Pimento cheese-bacon sliders

The first of many for 2014.

Last year, I made a lot of apologies for not really getting on board with National Hamburger Month, other than eating them non-stop of course. That will not be happening this year. This time around, there’ll be as many burger as I can put out, and even shooting a burger on location at Citizen’s Bank Ballpark right in the lot (weather permitting).

The first official entry for National Hamburger Month comes from Bobby Flay. The original recipe is for full, grown man burgers, but since I don’t want to overdo it, I do mine up as sliders for an evening relaxing with Beth and some company.

The pimento cheese sauce is pretty much just peppers, spices, cheese, bacon and…mayonnaise. Yes. A cheesey mayonnaise sauce. Probably a good thing this is on a slider then.

Speaking of which, that’s the only thing I did differently. So if you want to do sliders instead of burgers, substitute 8 slider buns in place of 4 hamburger buns.
